About Aditya Hridaya Stotra

A digital sanctuary dedicated to preserving and sharing the sacred Sun God hymn — making this timeless ancient wisdom accessible to every devotee, in every language, completely free.

Who We Are

A Resource for Every Devotee

adityahridayastotra.com is an independent devotional resource created with deep reverence for the sacred Aditya Hridaya Stotra — the powerful Sanskrit hymn to Lord Surya (the Sun God), revealed by Sage Agastya to Lord Sri Rama on the battlefield of Lanka.

This stotra is preserved in the Yuddha Kanda of Valmiki Ramayana, Sarga 107. For thousands of years, it has been recited by sages, kings, and ordinary devotees seeking victory in life's battles — both inner and outer. Our purpose is simple: to make this divine prayer accessible to anyone, anywhere, in their own language.

Whether you are a seasoned practitioner reciting the stotra at sunrise, a young student preparing for exams, a devotee seeking inner peace, or simply curious about Hindu scriptures — this site is built for you.

Our Story

Why We Built This

The internet is filled with devotional content — but much of it is fragmented, poorly translated, or buried behind ads and pop-ups. As devotees ourselves, we noticed that finding a clean, authentic, well-designed resource for the Aditya Hridaya Stotra was unexpectedly difficult.

So we built one. We worked carefully with traditional Sanskrit references — Gita Press editions, Valmiki Ramayana critical editions, and major regional devotional sources — to compile verses verified across multiple authorities. We then translated and designed everything with care, in seven languages.

This site is our offering to Lord Surya and the global community of devotees. May it serve you well in your spiritual journey.

Sources

Authoritative References

The content on this website is based on widely-recognized scholarly and devotional sources:

  • Valmiki Ramayana — Yuddha Kanda, Sarga 107 (original Sanskrit text)
  • Gita Press, Gorakhpur — Standard Hindi devotional editions since 1923
  • Valmiki Ramayana Critical Edition — Baroda Oriental Institute
  • Regional devotional publications in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali from established religious publishers

Where textual variants exist between traditions, we have generally followed the form preserved in the Gita Press / scholarly editions, while noting that all attested variants are spiritually valid.
